Okay, it’s Sunday, you’ve read the papers, washed the car and you think to yourself ‘Sunday bloody Sunday!’

The BBC has today (1st September 2010) lost it’s attempt to block the release of a book that will reveal the real identity of The Stig from BBC2s Top Gear programme.
The High Court ruling is bad news for the BBC, who no doubt will have loads of Stig merchandising lined up to be released over the next few months to cash in on the busy Christmas shopping period.

So I’m a fan. Why? Because it takes skill, you have to work hard and there is a humble desire amongst the contestants to win. When it comes to Celebrity Masterchef there are also no prima donnas, no ego’s, just people who love to cook and just happen to be a bit famous.
This atmosphere is reflected in the way the competition is presented and the good spirit of the contestants – of which there was no better example than with the 3 finalists, Dick Strawbridge, Christine Hamilton and the eventual winner the plucky, timid, yet talented Lisa Faulkner.

Just a few days after Channel 4 began its ‘Coming Soon’ campaign for the all new 3rd series comes even better news for all you failed Rudge Park Sixth-formers, the much hyped film version is now all systems go as well.

Its hard to believe it but this Saturday 21st August The X-Factor returns to our screens on ITV, but should it? Is this the year to fight the system and say enough is enough?
Spurred on by last years Facebook campaign to get Rage Against the Machine to the Christmas number 1 spot instead of the nicey nice Joe McElderry, I say this year is the year we should all boycott the show completely.

This Sunday (25th July 2010) saw what many (Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans included) believe was the best episode of Top Gear ever!
The show continues to be all things to everyone, but most important of all it’s just good old fashioned fun.

As far as show openers go, Sherlock was right up there. A fast pace (too fast in places), slick visuals and an intriguing plot all added up to a pilot that rivalled the first ever episode of Lost back in the summer of 2005. When you compare the budgets of the 2 shows it makes Sherlock even more impressive.
Amazingly the idea to set Sherlock in modern times worked, it had disaster written all over it but somehow they pulled it off. Maybe in these troubled times we need to know a nut-job genius is out there watching our back like More >

Fans of cult US show Lost will be please to hear they can get one final fix of new material when the series 6 box set is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 13th.

New Torchwood finally on the way

A year after the excellent 5-dayer ‘Torchwood Children of Earth’ came to its shocking conclusions we finally get the news we all hoped for. Torchwood will be back for a 4th series.
Pre-production is now underway and while no air date has been announced, expect to see it on your screens by the end of 2011.
John Barrowman and Eve Myles have both been confirmed to return as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Williams (nee Cooper). No mention yet of Gwens husband Rhys returning but it is highley likely that he will.
